Pakistani cinema had came in to birth in 1896 .From then it has played a vital role in creating entertainment for Pakistani audiences. From the last few years Pakistani cinema was facing serious threats because of low budget movies and heavy fan base of Indian cinema.Since the decline of Pakistanis cinema in 1970 mainstream films have lost his originality ,a good script and audiences.In golden days more than 200 movies were released each year .
But in the past five years Pakistani cinema has taken a new turn along with this new initiative Pakistan government also lifted its 40 year ban on screening Indian movies in Pakistani cinema.However 2010 was the worst year in the history of Pakistani cinema because only seven movies managed to release and out of 11 six of them failed big time discouraging the fans of Pakistani movies.
With the sudden re emergence of Bollywood movies in Pakistani cinemas and with the success of KHUDA KE LIYE and BOL it has given us a new hope that Pakistani cinema would soon flourish.KHUDA KE LIYE and BOL has proved that Pakistani film industry has the talent to tackle a serious subject and effectively bring the story alive with great acting talent.Now we need more of these to revitalize our cinema and take ourselves to the global platform..It was a blockbuster internationally and nationally.The success of this movie made it clear that our audiences want these types of movies.
This shows that industry is finally getting the boast it needs in developing the film industry 's infrastructure again.
Some people believe that playing Bollywood and Hollywood movies in our cinemas would ruin the success of Pakistani movies but in my point of view screening of Hollywood and Bollywood movies would open the door of cinema for Pakistani audiences.
