Our Rich Heritage- Our Culture Ismail Babar

Our Rich Heritage – Our culture

Culture basically comprises of arts, beliefs, institutions, customs, social behavior patterns and thoughts and expressions of that nation. The most imperative thing that represents a nation is its culture.
Talking about culture, every country has its own traditions. Pakistani culture is one of its kinds. Here we have many events and occasions some of which are celebrated in relation with our religion like Eid-ul-fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, Eid-Milad-unabi which probably are the greatest occasions of joy and felicity for us Muslims. Other than that, the “Horse and cattle show”, polo tournaments etc are worth enjoying. Hockey is the national game and many of our heroes have brought a lot of pride to the country through their game but despite that our masses our more involved in cricket. Our cricketers have also made the country proud on many occasions i.e. winning the world cup in 1992 and recently bringing home the t-20 world cup.
There are many historical buildings that depict our cultural heritage like the great Badshahi masjid in Lahore, Shah Faisal masjid which is the second biggest masid of the world, Mina-e-Pakistan, Lahore Fort, Fort Rohtas and many buildings of the mughal era that show the greatness of our Muslims emperors and leaders.
People here are friendly and altruistic in nature. The practice of joint family system is usually followed by people. But inspite of so much progress in our IT our literacy is only 54% and male dominance is still a common practice amongst majority of the masses.
Our northern areas are a big source of tourist attraction which has some of the highest mountains of the world including K-2(Godwin Austin), the Himaliyan Range, Nanga Parbat and the Rakaposhi mountain. The beautiful valleys of Sawat, Naran, Kaghan add magnificence and make the country exquisite.
In spite of processing such a great culture, Pakistan is going through a tough time due to our self-centered politicians and the greedy and selfish attitude of the people which leads to corruption, which in turn is causing harm to the count y on a massive scale. Being citizens of this state, it is out moral and social duty to stay loyal to our country and work hard by leaps and bounds to take it to the heights of glory.
