Changing Trends of Fashion in Pakistan

Fashion is changing day by day in Pakistan. It has improved alot since past 15 years .Pakistani designers are surely unbeatable. The recent event of Pakistan Fashion Week and Lahore extravaganza has proved that fashion industry has improved alot and its progressing. Both the shows portrays the fashionable side of Pakistan which was hidden under the name of Talibans who always tried to spread the wrong message of Islam and Pakistan.Pakistan Fashion industry is booming, flourishing and adopting  changes according to needs of time but on the other hand i feel that the designer clothes are not wearable among the common girls. They are too westernized and only the models can wear such type of clothes. However you can see that these designers are in demand in international market and many designers are working in making clothes according to the cultural theme of Pakistan.
The fashion shows have been done to introduce Pakistan through western culture and society. But on the other hand you can see that  introduction of new ideas  have neglected the real culture of Pakistan.
Maybe  my readers will considered me as a conservative Pakistani girl  but i am saying what a common girl thinks.Although Pakistani clothes are famous in international market but they should introduce fashion which is acceptable in our society.
During 2008 short shirts with patiala shalwars were in fashion however with the advent of 2009 long shirts with trousers and churidaars were seen.No one could ever imagine that the the fashion of seventies would be so popular again in Pakistan.
Fifteen years ago fashion was unknown to the Pakistani society.Later with the formation of fashion schools and councils fashion industry has improved alot.Today its the most progressing industry in Pakistan .Number of designers are increasing and more and more girls are coming into the modelling field.Rapid change in fashion industry has shown the  capabilities of our Pakistan designers and its helpful to introduce the moderate side of the Pakistan at international level but designers while making clothes should keep in mind to design clothes according to the  real culture of Pakistan which is one of  the richest cultures of the world.

  4. They are very well documented thoughts on changing trend of fashion in Pakistan. I am impressed by your in depth knowledge about current and past fashion trends, the evolution of fashion, problems associated with certain fashion trends and the way you have judge them shows the your good analytical approach. I totally agree with you that being modern is good thing but forgetting about your culture while creating fashion trends is not acceptable and it does not even show the good business sense. Creating fashion for masses would be a more beneficial approach both in terms of culture and finance.
I would like to congratulate you on writing such a nice article which is completely showing your understanding of fashion in Pakistan.

  6. I totally agree with you that by introducing new ideas we have neglected the culture of Pakistan. Fashion trends should be those which reflect our culture and can be accepted by the society. A very well written article.
